Zaman (Mohammad Khairuzzaman) is an active Labour and Unite Member and currently a BAME officer for Gorton CLP.

He has been volunteering for a number of organisations including Greater Manchester Bangladesh Association, Chittagong Association, Pakistan Community and Smile Aid. He set up Work for Smile foodbank to coordinate delivery of food parcels to people in need in Gorton.

Zaman said: “I’m very proud of Manchester’s diversity and I’m engaged with work to strengthen community relations. I feel happy when I deliver food to those who really need it. I also provide food to local communities, NHS and the homeless through Work for Smile.”
